Allegan, MI, died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Jones was born October 3, 1909, in Petoskey, the daughter of William & Anastasia (Fleming) Robinson. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years and served on the Alter Society. She graduated from Western Michigan Univ. in 1928 and taught in the Allegan Public School system for more than 40 years, retiring in 1975. Surviving are 2 sons, Martin Jones of Allegan and Philip and Deborah Jones of Maryland; 5 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern, and sister, Leila Walker. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Allegan. Rev. Fr. Jerome M. Heyman, O.S.A., Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Dollars for Scholars.
