Olive Bell Ruthruff, 82, of Hopkins, MI passed away peacefully Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland. Born September 27,1935, in Gun Plain Township, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Frances (Lamphear) Madison. She was the beloved wife of the late Alvin James Ruthruff, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2017 after sixty-five years of marriage. Mrs. Ruthruff was a member of Friendship Bible Church. She was an avid quilter and sent many of her beautiful quilts around the world for mission workers to distribute. Mrs. Ruthruff also used her talents to crochet baby hats and booties for the hospital to give to newborns so they had something warm to wear home and to make lap robes for veterans. Her family and friends will remember fondly her wonderful breads and donuts, baked lovingly from scratch. Mrs. Ruthruff is survived by her children, Phillip Ruthruff, Leonard Ruthruff, Patricia (Henry) Peak, Robert (Stephanie) Ruthruff, Terry (Cora) Ruthruff, Carol (Dean) Spaulding, Christine Campbell and JoAnn Ruthruff; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-nine and three-quarter great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark; and her siblings, Wade, Bill, Herm, Ken, Dale, Delbert and Ruth. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
