of Allegan. Died Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Age 85 years. He was born October 1, 1926, the son of the late Ogden E. Hotchkiss Sr. and Ruth (Wood) Hotchkiss. He graduated from Allegan High School. He served in the United States Army Field Artillery Division. He owned and operated Allegan Dry Cleaners for fifty years and then worked for the City of Allegan Streets Department for 12 years. He attended First Church of God. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was married to Lavina Austin on May 17, 1963; she survives him. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Lisa Ponder of Ludlow, KY and Sue Shepherd of Allegan; eight grandchildren, Maurizio Garcia, Magdalena Garcia, Lizabeth Garcia, Alexandra Garcia, Caleb Hotchkiss, Anna Shepherd, Jimmie Shepherd and Amy Shepherd; one brother, Kenneth (Donna) Hotchkiss of Allegan. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
