age 94, formerly of Hopkins, left this life, Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Defiance, Ohio, and entered into eternity with his Lord. He was born September 26, 1919 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Conrad and Mamie (Oast) Haveman. Woody was a loving husband, father and grandfather. There was never a piece of "old, tired" furniture he could not "remake or remold" into something wonderful and beautiful. He made this his career for many years and delighted many customers with his wonderful craftsmanship. He celebrated the simple things in life such as his "hole in one" while golfing in Florida. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Woody is survived by Doris, his beloved wife of eighteen years; his son Jerry (Sally) Haveman and his other children, Rose (David) Sebright, Boyd (Tammy) Slusser, Danny (Kaye) Slusser, Penny (Bill) Timmer, Paula Sanford, Larry (Leanna) DeGroff, Fred (Val) DeGroff, Darlene (Jim) Page, Debbi (Larry) Kisor; his twenty-four grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren, which Woody enjoyed very much. He is preceded in death by his wife Alma and his wife Lillian. Woody's life will be celebrated on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where prior to the service, friends may visit with the family as well, from 12-2:00 P.M. Trayton Lull will be officiating. Interment is at Lakeview Cemetery, Hopkins Township.
