Obituary

Norma Jean (Brindley) Farmer went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Born January 10, 1934, she was the youngest of six children born to Lester and Lelia (Powers) Brindley, now deceased. Her siblings were Marland Brindley, Elwin Brindley, Mildred Woolf, Ruth French and Erma Remington, all now deceased. Norma married Robert Lee Farmer on August 26, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2005. She and Bob had four children: Ron and Deb Farmer, Dean and Roxanne Nevenzel, and Randy and Dorene Farmer all who survive her; and Donald Farmer who died shortly after birth. She had six grandchildren: Tyler Farmer, Travis Farmer, Zach (Calandra) Nevenzel, Emily (Kelly) Colborn, Ashley (Juan) Suarez and Arlen Farmer. She also had four great-grandchildren: Garrett Colborn, Alexander Suarez and Zulay Suarez, all who survive her; and Haven Suarez, who passed away at birth. Norma also had many nieces and nephews as well as their families. She was a member of Dunningville Reformed Church in Allegan. Norma graduated from Allegan High School in 1969. She had worked for many years as the Executive Office Manager for Sheffer Cheese. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staffs of Hospice of Southwest Michigan and Alamo Nursing Home for the exceptional, compassionate care they provided Norma. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Otsego United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Township. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Neighbors, Hungry Seniors Program, P.O. Box 53, Plainwell, MI 49080; or to Dunningville Reformed Church, 2559 Lincoln Road, Allegan, MI 49010.
