Nikalos S. O'Patik, 35 of Wayland, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 in Wayland. Nik was born January 11, 1969 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Rudy & Karen (Berends) O'Patik. He was a graduate of Hopkins High School Class of 1987, he worked for over 12 years driving semi for Parker Motor Freight and was currently employed by Country Fresh Dairy. Nik loved to fly and was working on his private pilot licence . Surviving are his daughter, Caylie, and her mother Nashell O'Patik; his mother, Karen O'Patik of Hopkins; his grandmother, Sophie O'Patik of Wyoming; 3 brothers, Rick & Sharon O'Patik of Colorado, Stacey O'Patik & Wendy Berg of Middleville, his identical twin Mikalos O'Patik of Arizona; 2 sisters, Soni & Jeff Stevens of Auburn Hills, and Coni Carlton of Schoolcraft; his aunt, Judy & Ed Sandusky of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his father Rudy. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Byron Center. Msgr. Gaspar Ancona Celebrant. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp.
