Allegan, MI, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Zimmerman was born Oct. 8, 1920 in Trowbridge Twp., the son of Herman and Rhea (Hackett) Zimmerman. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII and had been employed at the Allegan Post Office as a custodian for 25 years, retiring in 1983. Surviving are his wife, Martha (VanArsdal); 2 sons and their wives, Wayne and Carol Zimmerman of Irons, and Roger and Judy Zimmerman of Allegan; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother and his wife, Herman and Janice Zimmerman of Otsego; 2 sisters, Mildred Whitcomb of Allegan and Muriel Alexander of Florida. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
