Nellie was born December 28, 1948, in Conrad, Montana, the daughter of Martin and Jennie (VanDyke) Kiel. She graduated from Hudsonville High School in 1966, and was an accomplished seamstress. Nellie was one of a kind, true and faithful, always placing the needs of her family above her own. Surviving are her husband: Russ, whom she married on December 30, 1969; 2 children: Jennifer and Heidi; 2 grandsons: Lain and Anthony; her mother: Jennie Kiel; 3 brothers: Martin, Larry, Harvey; 4 sisters: Patricia Kruizenga, Jean Scholma, Ellie Scholma, Mary Wind; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father: Martin. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, from 6 -8pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Pastor Dale VanDyke will officiate. Interment at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp.
