Allegan, MI, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Cohen was born May 25, 1911 in Buchanan, MI, the son of Isaac and Rosa (Frank) Cohen. He was one of 7 children. His siblings were Maurice, Sam, Jack, Zelda, Etta and Belle. He owned and operated Benton Bag Company in Stevensville and St. Joseph for many years. He loved his work and the interaction with his customers. He worked well into his 80's. He also enjoyed an occasional card game, the company of his family and watching professional wrestling. On May 6, 2007 he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Schulz) Cohen. He was also preceded in death by a son, David. Surviving is a son and his wife, Ronald and Michelle Cohen of Allegan and a grandson, Kyle. Funeral services for Mr. Cohen will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Christ Lutheran Church, Stevensville with Rev. Philip Quardokus officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
