of Allegan, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, November 6, 2015, at the Allegan County Medical Care Community. Mrs. VanDenBerg was born August 4, 1926 in Holland, the daughter of Henry and Cornelia (VanLangevelde) Essenburg. Myrtle was very faithful to her New Hope Baptist Church, she was one of the oldest surviving members, helped as the church secretary/ treasurer for many years, played piano, and enjoyed being with her church family. She loved raising flowers and vegetables in her garden, and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her 10 children: Wanda Pagan, Jim VanDenBerg, Jerry and Charlynn VanDenBerg, Marcia VanLente and Kirk, Ken and Deb VanDenBerg, Charlene Brown, Phyllis Olivarez and Paul, Carl VanDenBerg and Wendy, Michael VanDenBerg and Sharron, Edward and Nancy VanDenBerg; many grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Don and Ruth VanDenBerg; sister-in-law, Alice VanDenBerg; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Gayle; granddaughters, Tammy and Jenna; 2 brothers, Jack and Glenn; 2 sisters, Florence and Chrystal; 2 sons-in-law, Emmett Brown and Luciano Olivarez, daughter-in-law, Linda VanDenBerg. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am. Pastor Tadd Butler will officiate. Interment in Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Twp. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 2011 Lincoln Rd., Allegan, MI 49010.
