Obituary

Myrtle Mae (Nakken) Miller, 87, of Hopkins, MI passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. Born October 26, 1933 in Salem Township, she was the ninth child of twelve born to the late Benjamin and Tiena (Van Dam) Nakken. She married Roy Arthur Miller on August 19, 1958 and together they shared nearly sixty-three years of happy marriage and raised three children. Mrs. Miller was retired from the United States Postal Service where she had been a mail carrier in Hopkins for many years. She and Roy were long time members of First Baptist Church of Allegan. Mrs. Miller loved the Lord and wanted to share the joy she experienced by knowing him. She taught bible study for many years and read her own bible often. Mrs. Miller enjoyed spending time tending to her flower gardens and spending time with her loved ones. In addition to her husband, Roy, she is survived by her children, Melinda (Tom) Bultman, Dale Miller and Janice Crick. Mrs. Miller was also loved and will be missed by several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, as well as great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, sisters-in-law, neighbors, friends and her church family. In accordance with her wishes, private services were held. Mrs. Miller was laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery, Wayland. Donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1290 32nd Street, Allegan, MI 49010; or to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
