Myrna I. Shimmons, 82 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away early Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Jones Circle assisted living center. Born November 17, 1937 in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Arvada (Hall) Shimmons. She was recently preceded in death by her twin sister, Marva Chappell. Myrna was born with both physical and mental disabilities, but that didn't stop her from living a full and enjoyable life. Like her twin sister, she was a very sweet person but always willing to give out a little sass too. Her personality shown through when she was at her happiest; while being outside enjoying the sunshine, singing along to her favorite country songs, going to the park, shopping or while being around the special friends she had made while at Jones Circle. Myrna loved life and made the most out of hers. She was a beautiful example of rising above her disabilities and showing others that happiness and enjoyment is always possible. Myrna is survived by her guardian and niece, Dalene (Brian) Anson, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marva, and her three other sisters, Lorraine, Mardell and Marcia. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Jones Circle and Grace Hospice for their loving and caring ways. You each brought peace and comfort to Myrna's life. Myrna will be laid to rest next to her father and twin sister in Hudson Corners Cemetery.
