of Plainwell, formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida. Died Thursday, October 20, 2011. Age 91 years. She was born December 1, 1919, the daughter of the late George and Muriel (Willock) Macauley. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1938. Muriel worked as a realtor in Lake Orion, Petoskey and Port Charlotte, Florida. Surviving are two nieces, Muriel Kaier of Brighton, and Janet and Lee Murray of Hopkins, 2 great nephews; Charles and Erin Kaier and Ryan and Carolyn Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Gardner, in 1990; two sisters, June M. Kibbe and Phyllis Hesselgrave; and a nephew, Frederick Evans. During Muriel's 6 month stay at Life Care Center in Plainwell, she received tender loving care. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, from 1 pm till service time at 2pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Pastor Gary Dekoekkoek will officiate.
