of Allegan, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Wings Home in Allegan, after a brief illness. Milton was born September 17, 1919, in Allegan, the son of E.C. and Elnora (Smith) Hunter. Milt graduated from Allegan High School in 1937, he was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII, and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. On November 18, 1946, Milton married Margaret Cavanaugh, they were together for 67 years. He owned and operated Hunter Brothers Shell Service Station in Allegan for over 38 years. He was an avid golfer and had been a member of Cheshire Hills Golf Course for 39 years. Milt was a life member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife: Maggie; 2 children: Pat and Nan Hunter, Bridget and Brad Brownell; his daughter in law: Kim Hunter; 8 grandchildren: Amy, Andy, Scott, Brad, Ryan, Vanessa, Matt, and Megan; 7 great grandchildren: Jane, Maggie, Will, Amirah, Houston, Avery, and Luke. He was preceded in death by his infant son: Edward; son: Kelly; and his daughter: Peggy Pobuda. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 4-6 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Monday at 11 am, Rev Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant.
