formerly of Allegan, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Hi Desert Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. Michael was born February 9, 1975, in Plainwell, the son to Leamon Laverty and Kathy (Warner) Smith. Michael graduated from Allegan High School in 1995. He has lived in California for the past 12 years. Surviving is his mother Kathy Smith; his sister Missy (Rodney) Breon; and his three nieces: Samantha, Morgan, Jenna. He is preceded in death by his father Leamon Laverty. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 1-2:30 P.M. at the Allegan Event Center for a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:30 P.M. Pastor Roger Bird will officiate. A private interment will be held at Lindsley Cemetery in Cheshire Township. Arrangements by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
