Trowbridge Twp., Gobles, MI, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Life Care Center, Plainwell. Mr. Brooks was born September 24, 1952 in Plainwell, the son of Sam and Shirley (Myers) Brooks. He was a graduate of Allegan High School, class of 1971. Surviving are his wife, Karen; 4 children, Tina Jarrett of Gobles, Jackie and Tommy Verono of Wayland, John and Crystal Vanness of Gobles and James and Tabby Vanness of Kendall; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; father, Sam Brooks of Allegan; sister, Ann Berzley of Allegan; several aunts, uncles and cousins; 1 niece and 1 nephew, Stephani Berzley and Gary Berzley. He was preceded in death by his mother, and a sister, Janet Brooks. Friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Rita Miller officating.
