Obituary

Mervin L. Huntley, 87 of Plainwell, died Friday, July 19, 2002 at Borgess - Pipp Health Center, Plainwell. Mr. Huntley was born May 19, 1915 in Allegan, MI the son of Lewis and Jessie (VanWey) Huntley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Allegan Elks Lodge #1621, and had enjoyed the Rockwell Golf League and the Senior Bowling Leagues in Plainwell. He worked at Rockwell International in Allegan for 43 years. Surviving are his wife Jennie (Stuck) of Plainwell, 1 daughter, Janice Karen Walter of Pullman; 2 stepchildren, Carter Myers of Grand Rapids, and Steven Myers of New River, CA; 1 grandson, Michael Walter; 2 stepgrandchildren, Carter Myers and Dorsey Myers; 1 brother and 2 sisters, David Huntley of Vicksburg, Jean Ward of California, and Catherine Thorpe of Allegan. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of donor's choice. Arrangements by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
