Obituary

Allegan, MI, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Wedge was born October 19, 1912 in Chicago, IL, the son of Judson and Elizabeth (Freund) Wedge. He and his brother, Harv, owned and operated a salvage yard in Allegan for many years and "Uncle Stub", as he was affectionately known in Allegan, also worked as a warehouse manager at Perrigo for several years. He had been a member of the Allegan United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Esther; 5 stepchildren and their spouses, Jim and Charlene Bender of Allegan, Judy Bray of St. Petersburg, FL, Mike and Sandy Bender of Allegan, Tom and Pam Bender of Seminole, FL, and Bill and Cathy Bender of Allegan; many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen "Polly" in 1975 and 6 brothers, Emerson, Howard, Elmer, Harv, Bill, and Forrest. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. A luncheon will follow at the Allegan United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allegan United Methodist Church or Mel Trotter Ministries, Grand Rapids.
