Gordon, Maxine, Allegan, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Gordon was born March 6, 1920 in McBain, MI, the daughter of Alvin & Myrtle (Kent) Meredith. Maxine graduated from the Allegan High School in 1938, she was a member of the First Congregational Church in Allegan and had worked for over 43 years with L. Perrigo Company. On March 14, 1942, Maxine married Frank Gordon who preceded her in death. Surviving are her 2 children; Ron & Melody Gordon of WI, and Diane Petrella of Mattawan, 7 grandchildren & their spouses; Scott Petrella, Martin & Becky Gordon, Andrew & Jennifer Petrella, Aaron Gordon, Pegeen Kangas, Kris & Andrea Gordon and Bari Gordon; 3 great grandchildren, Sloan, Miranda & Taylor, several nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 5-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com. Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church on Saturday at 2 pm. Pastor Barry Lucas will officiate. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Congregational Church.
