of Monterey Twp., died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at his home. Mr. Commons was born May 13, 1930 in Monterey Twp., the son of Harry and Irene (Beck) Commons. Max was born and raised, farmed and died on the same property in Monterey Twp. Surviving are his wife, Beverly, 4 children, Dan and Beverly Commons of Hopkins, Judy and Elton Edwards of Allegan, Cathy and Ron Bilek of Mattawan, and Shawn Commons and Holly of Muskegon, 11 grandchildren, Mark, Mathew, Brian, Melody, Jamie, Josh, Cody, Dylan, Devon, Boston and Brady, 2 great grandchildren, Paige and Mia, 3 brothers, Basil and Frances Commons of Virginia, Bob and Bev Commons of Allegan, Dennis and Lois Commons of Hopkins, 3 sisters, Hazel and Hank Polityka of Allegan, Norma Punches of Allegan and Gayle and Lawrence Bleeker of Hamilton, 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Commans of Hopkins, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 5-7 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the Funeral service will take place at 7 pm. Pastor Stephen Otto will officiate. Private interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp., Michigan. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Holland.
