of Allegan, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at his home. Mr. Deering was born October 31, 1932, in Cheboygan, the son of Maurice and Verna (Vincent) Deering. Maurice was a Veteran of the United States Army, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from Rockwell in the late 1980's after 20 years of service. He was a member and past Worthy President of the Eagles. Surviving are his daughter: Linda Deering; 2 sisters: Ione Hunt, and Maurine and Bernie Ockert, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Margie; brother in law: James Hunt. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, October 5, 2014, from 3-5 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am.
