At 5:00 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Matthew Scott VanHorn went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven. He died at the University of Michigan hospital, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with MDS and various complications. Scott and Vickie built a house together where they lived for twenty years.
Scott worked at Perrigo for over thirty years and was involved in his church at First Baptist of Allegan as a deacon and a leader in youth and family ministries. Scott loved to travel and often found the opportunity to sight-see while on work trips. Scott loved Walt Disney World and planned many trips to Disney with his family. He enjoyed boating, golfing, fishing, puzzles, board games, trivia, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
Scott is survived by his wife, Vickie; son, Cameron; daughters, Courtney and Abigail; mother and father, Herb and Cherry VanHorn; siblings, Barbara (Steve) Strong, Herbert (Susan) VanHorn, Doug (Joanie) VanHorn, and Timothy (Marie) VanHorn; brother and sisters-in-law, Eric and Becky Fehr and Robert and Kyla Sutter; and parents-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Sutter; and nineteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
