Matthew Morgan Montgomery, 42, of Allegan, MI passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019. Born March 1, 1977 in Marcum, IL, he was the son of Sharon (Kocsis) Montgomery and the late Kenneth Ray Montgomery. Matthew had worked for a variety of employers throughout his adult life but had most recently enjoyed his employment with Ropes Courses in Allegan. He loved to work on cars, lawnmowers and practically anything else with an engine. He was especially proud of the Cj5 Red Jeep that he built. Matthew was a devoted father and a dedicated uncle who helped to raise his niece and nephews. His family was the most important thing in the world to him, even ranking higher than his chocolate milk and Tums addictions. In addition to his mother, Sharon, Matthew is survived by his children, Trevor Matthew Montgomery (Jenell Slater), Carter Joseph Montgomery and Tinliegh Ryan Montgomery and their mother, Ashley Priebe, and Jayden Kenneth Montgomery and his mother, Kimberly Baux; a brother, Jeffrey Alan Montgomery; a sister, Lori R. Montgomery; a brother-in-law, York Renton; nieces and nephews, Tangela M. Ferris, Adrian Ferris, Spencer Ferris, Amanda Zeran and Kasondra Renton; a great-niece, Ariana Piner; and a great-nephew, TJ Piner. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Montgomery; and his sister, Kelly Montgomery. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at which time a funeral service will begin. Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Trevor Montgomery to assist with expenses. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
