LAYNE, Mary Lucille "Lucy" Age 77 Of Plainwell Passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan. Lucy was born on May 4, 1934 in North Dorr, the daughter of Bob and Florence Bieber. She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Marie Bieber, her brother Bernie Bieber, and her grandson Michael Bailey. She is survived by her husband Don, children Jeff (Ruth) Layne, Charlie (Rebecca) Layne, Brenda (Mike) Bailey, and Sondra Layne; grandchildren Jennifer (Cory) Hinga, Mallory Bailey, Kelsey (Joe) Passage, Alex Layne, and Elyssa Layne; great-grandchildren Connor Bailey-Cook and Grace Hinga; four siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to raising her own four children,Lucy also loved and cared for all of her grandchildren and dozens of other children throughout her life. A couple of her other favorite pastimes were caring for her flowers, and taking regular trips to Dean's Ice Cream. She was a very generous, gentle, and kind woman to all she came in contact with, brightening others' day with the sparkle in her eye. Lucy was a lifelong member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday, May 7 at 10am in the Daily Chapel at St Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Bailey Fund for memorial scholarships at First Community Credit Union in Parchment or to St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego.
