of Allegan, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Allegan General Hospital. Ms. Laninga was born August 20, 1922 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Albert J. and Bernice A. (Pyman) Laninga. Mary Jane was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a secretary at Rockwell Int. for over 25 years retiring in 1982. She served on the board at the Allegan United Way from 1976 - 1984, and received a community service award in 1984. She was also involved for many years with the Historical Society in Allegan. She grew uo riding and taking care of horses, and enjoyed them most of her life. Mary Jane received excellent care at the Stanford Lodge in Plainwell for several years. She was preceded in death by her father in 1929, her mother in 1975, and her brother Albert J. (Jack) Laninga Jr. who was killed in the service in 1943. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 1 pm at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Cemetery.
