of Allegan, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the Wings Home in Allegan. Mrs. Garvin was born October 2, 1936, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Ruth Ann (Montgomery) Durkee. Mary Jane graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Allegan. Mrs. Garvin was a Brand Manager in the wholesale wine industry, she worked the whole State of Michigan for over 25 years distributing fine wines. She was also an avid Bridge player, and loved to get together with friends and family to play. Surviving are her husband, Ed, her 3 children; Kim and Steve Kupres, Robert and Laura Garvin, Kristen and Ben Wood, 3 grandchildren; Tyler, Ryan, and Lilia, several nieces and nephews, and her Great Dane, Calli. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Melanie, and her brother, Robert. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 1 pm, at the United Methodist Church in Allegan. Pastors Robert Lynch and Joseph Spackman will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Wings Home, Allegan. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
