Mary Carol Anderson, 81 of Allegan, Michigan passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital. Born October 13, 1940 in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eleanor (Tuttle) Freeman and the wife of the late John Anderson. Mary was a Waukegan High School graduate, Class of 1958. She married her true love, John, and the two of them were blessed to raise four children together. Mary worked for over twenty years in the 135th school district in Illinois in various positions. She was a very outgoing person who loved being involved in the community that she lived. When she moved to Allegan, she joined the Allegan United Methodist Church and remained as part of their church community for 30 years. She was also a board member of Indian Shores where she was very proud to serve and active in keeping things moving forward. Mary enjoyed hosting her friends and family at Lake Allegan and thoroughly loved having her grandchildren around her. Her spunkiness and energy were just a part of who Mary was and her kind and generous spirit is already greatly missed. Mary is survived by her four children, John (Kimberly) Anderson, Lori (Todd) Kendall, Jeffrey (Barb) Anderson and Mark (Tara) Anderson; and her nine grandchildren, John Allen, Brad, Alec, Sarah, Jack, Ben, Brooke, Isabella and Grace. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her two siblings, Roger Freeman and Anita (Neil) Buesching. A private graveside service will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Township. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
