Obituary

Mary E. Billadeau, 85 of Allegan, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Mrs. Billadeau was born February 1, 1917 in Kingsley, MI the daughter of Reuben and Mary (Wood) Wilson. She was a psychiatric nurse for 30 years working at the state hospitals in both Traverse City and Kalamazoo. Mary was an avid golfer, loved bingo, watching birds and had a quick humor. She had a willingness to always help her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She loved the evening sunsets over Lake Allegan, and had many close friends from Canada to Maine to Florida. Her church, the First Congregational Church of Allegan was very special to her. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Portage Eastern Star, and member of the Otsego Moose and Allegan Eagles. Surviving are 2 sons and their spouses, Charles & Catherine of Traverse City, Larry & Judy of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Carla, Charles, Mike and Michelle; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Orilla Thompson of Eaton Rapids, and Maureen Johnson of Midland; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 1998 and 7 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The funeral service will be held Friday 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church, Allegan. Pastor Barry Lucas officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Kingsley, Saturday 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church or Rose Arbor Hospice.
