of Grand Rapids, formerly of Six Lakes, died Friday, September 18, 2015, at the Fulton Manor in Grand Rapids. Mary Jane was born October 19, 1933, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Henry and Ruby (Palmer) Steinport. She was a selfless and caring wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She worked for many years at Meijer's in Grand Rapids, and developed many true friendships through her work. She was very involved in her church, and spent many hours volunteering her time at the local food pantry, and other places she could lend a hand. She enjoyed knitting and making quilts, much of which she gave away to family, friends and those in need. Surviving are her 2 son's: Mark and Evelyn Bergman, and Dana Bergman; 2 grandchildren: Jason and Karah; her brother, Gerald Steinport; her nephew, Rick and Pat Steinport; her niece, Linda Steinport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, and her daughter, Inger. A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 4 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
