82, of Allegan, died on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Wings Home. She was born on April 9, 1931, in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Pennington) Ames. She attended K.V.C.C. and received her R.N. degree. Mary worked at Borgess twenty years, and then went to work for Allegan General Hospital for another twenty years. Mary worked hard for the church. She led the choir and taught Sunday school. Mary is survived by her husband Alvin; her children: Charles Hamm, Tim (Michelle) Hamm; her step-children: Dennis (Pam) Lambert, Janice (Paul) Hays, Roger (Vicki) Lambert, Paul (Kari) Lambert; her twelve grandchildren, especially her granddaughter Amy Hamm that Mary spent a great deal of time with; her nineteen great-grandchildren; her sister Ardith Bradley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her first husband Charles; eleven brothers and sisters; and her daughter Kathleen. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The Funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 also at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Paul Hays and Roger Lambert will be officiating.
