Allegan, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Heft was born February 22, 1923, in Sparta, the son of Marvin and Marjorie (Helmka) Heft. Marvin was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII. He received his Master's Degree of Engineering from Michigan State University. He was a member of the National Camper's and Hikers Assoc. Surviving are his wife, Margaret, 4 children, Connie Heft of Allegan, Bonnie Arthur of Kalamazoo, Ann Louise and Lorren VanOrder of Hamilton and Pamela Heft of Niles, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Richard Heft and Curtis and Dee Heft all of Sparta, 3 sisters, Louise Palczwiski and Bevra Kremer both of Grand Rapids, and Judy and Everett Hamernik of Grant, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Roger and Don. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Family Camper and R.V.ers, or the American Cancer Society.
