Martha E. Johnson, Allegan, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 after a short illness at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Martha was born August 18, 1952 in Allegan, the daughter of Robert & Robenia (Burson) Johnson. She was a graduate of Allegan High School in 1971, and was employed by Pine Oaks (Metron) nursing homes for 8 years. She was a noon hour supervisor for West Ward Elementary School. Surviving are 4 sisters, Edna Peak of Kalamazoo, Ethel & Lynn Morrie, her twin sister Mary Johnson and Alice Johnson all of Allegan; 2 brothers, Jurien "Pete" & Alice Johnson and James Johnson both of Allegan; 1 aunt Carleen Johnson of Kalamazoo, 5 nephews and 3 nieces, and a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert, mother, Robenia, brother, Richard "R.B.", sister, Ella and a brother in law, Harold Peak. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Paul Hays from Assembly of God will officiate. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Allegan County Medical Care Facility.
