Marie Lorraine Bormet 97 Bolingbrook Illinois, formerly of Washington Illinios. December 29, 1921 - March 7, 2019 Lorraine was born December 29, 1921 to Peter and Blanche LaLonde in Chicago Illinois. She married Emil H Bormet. He precedes her in death along with 6 siblings, Robert, Pearl, Irene, Peter, Leroy and Eugene. One son Peter M Bormet, one grandson Nathaniel Gast and one great granddaughter Autumn Bormet. Surviving her is one brother Robert (Irene) LaLonde, and seven children. Linda (Jerry) Gast, Mike (Joan) Bormet, Maryann (Steve) Slater, Becky (Frank) Land, David (Mary) Bormet, Melanie (Rob) Cronk, Jeannie Bormet and one daughter-in-law Barb Bormet. 21 grandchildren Jeff Gast, Jenny George, Stephanie Shunsky, Jake Bormet, Steven Slater, Sheryl Slater, Meagan Fosco, Greg Land, Jessica Priebe, Bill Bormet, Matt Bormet, Andy Bormet, Laura Webster, Lindsay Nielson, Christopher Cronk, Melissa Bell, Rebecca Rhodes, Samantha Bogacz, Emma Bormet, Danel Hull and Trevor Hull and 34 great grandchildren. Lorraine partnered with her husband Emil in maintaining a farm in Orland Park Illinois and raising eight children. Lorraine loved her large family and eagerly looked forward to the coming of each grandchild, and her great grandchildren were a special delight. Lorraine was an avid reader, enjoyed time in the garden, and kept an immaculate house to welcome friends and family. She was known to open her heart and home to those in need. Lorraine enjoyed baking and her cinnamon swirl orange bread was a favorite of all. She lovingly made quilts for her family and gave many to Threads of Hope and Love. She was a devoted wife and cared for her husband many years during their retirement in Hopkins Michigan. Lorraine was passionate in her love for Jesus since accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 52. Her walk with Jesus defined her life in every way. Most importantly, Lorraine was a prayer warrior, lifting up every need and person God laid on her heart. She will be missed. Visitation for Lorraine will be Monday, March 11, 2019 from 3-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be the same evening at 7:00 P.M. Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time or 12 Noon Central Standard Time for immediate family and for those that would like to attend at Maplewood cemetery, 130th & 17th St, Hopkins, MI 49328.
