Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Kinney was born February 4, 1941 in Allegan, the daughter of William and Rose (Mancuso) Southard. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Allegan for more than 50 years. She graduated from Allegan High School in 1958 an then went on to graduate from Western Michigan University in 1974. In 1997, Marie retired from the Allegan Public School system after 29 years of service. She was a member and past President of the MARSP, Michigan Assoc. Of Retired School Personnel. She loved camping with her family and friends and was very active with the Family Campers & R.V.ers. She also donated countless hours to kids and 4-H and was a leader for more than 30 years. On July 9, 1960, Marie Southard married Ray Kinney at the United Methodist Church in Allegan. Surviving are her husband Ray; 3 children, Susan and Scott Parsons of Otsego, Jerry and Cathy Kinney of Hopkins, and Sara Kinney of Allegan; her mother, Rose Southard, of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Robyn, David, Heather, Zachary and Amanda; 1 brother, John and Karen Southard of Muskegon. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church.
