Portage, formerly of Allegan, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at Sender's Adult Foster Care Home in Scotts. Mrs. Harder was born Aug. 4, 1916 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Mary (Emich) Berger. She had been a member of the Allegan Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Surviving are 1 daughter, Patricia Wallace of Portage; 4 grandchildren; Cameron Thompson, Rachel Wallace, Jennifer Boylan and Jerry Harder; 2 great granddaughters, Rebecca and Rita; 1 daughter-in-law, Melinda (Louis) Winters of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1989 and son, Jerry, in 1972. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. Fr. Jerome M.
