aged 79, of Salem Twp., MI, went to be with her Lord Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. Mrs. Kibby was born June 13, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Peter and Ella (Palma) Posthuma. She was united in marriage to Paul Kibby on April 6, 1955 in Allegan. She lived for several years in Grand Rapids, moving to Dorr in 1970. She loved to keep busy and enjoyed working in her yard. Surviving are 1 son, James and Shelly Kibby of Dorr; 2 grandsons, Jimmy Kibby of Dorr and Dana Kibby of Allegan; 2 stepchildren, Brenda Kibby of Holland and Brad and Doris Kibby of Allegan; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Sidney Posthuma of Jenison and Hank and Pat Posthuma of Sparta; 4 sisters, Enid and Ray Hamacher and Joyce and Don Lubbers all of Grandville, Jackie Kolkman of Jenison and Wilma and Harold Akkerman of Dorr; 1 sister-in-law, Yvonne Posthuma of Jenison; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1984, and a brother, Gerald Posthuma. Friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. Monday until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Mr. Comer Skinner officiating.
