Maria M. McKenzie, of Allegan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. McKenzie was born June 8, 1938 in Alice, Texas, the daughter of the late Pioquinto and Refugia (Rivera) Hernandez. Maria was a wonderful wife and mother, providing a loving and nurturing environment for her family. She took great pride in her home and children and loved being surrounded by her family. She especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Maria is survived by her 6 children: Noelia and Dennis Ross, Orlando and Angie McKenzie, Esther and Kevin Grindstaff, Oscar Jr. and Elizabeth McKenzie, Martha and Jerry Davenport, Arthur and Nancy McKenzie; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; brother, Frank Hernandez; and sister, Maggie Garza. Per Maria's wishes, there will be no visitation or services held.
