Allegan, MI, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 26, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Rasmussen was born November 11, 1925 in Nashville, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred and Willa Mae (Saltzman) McNair. She grew up and graduated as valedictorian in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. She and her husband, Ross Henry "Bud" Rasmussen moved to Michigan in 1948, where they lived on a farm in Trowbridge Twp. for 45 years. She retired from the brass division of Parker Hannifin in Otsego after 22 years. Her favorite hobbies were snowmobiling and camping. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving along with her husband of 64 years, are two sons, Larry Rasmussen and his partner, Susan Gomber, of Allegan and Richard Rasmussen of Comstock; 4 granddaughters and their spouses, Barb and Tom Burghard, Sheri and Mike Peyerk, Jill and Al LeMaire and Kristy and Matt Milbocker; 8 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Tommy, Elayna, Corey, Matthew, Chase, Cole and Tara; 1 sister, Marion Tucker of Nebraska; 1 brother, Robert McNair of California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Eleanor Rasmussen of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred, and mother, Willa Mae, who passed away in January at the age of 103. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Trowbridge United Methodist Church. Pastor Gary Wales officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
