Allegan, MI, died Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Short was born August 3, 1910 in Allegan County, the daughter of Scott and Annie (Gordon) Zoll. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 84 years and had sung in the choir. She graduated from County Normal and taught at many country schools in the Hopkins and Allegan area. She had also worked for the City of Allegan in the tax dept. and had been a waitress at Ruby's, Mr. B's and the Log Cabin. Surviving are 2 sons and their wives, Gordon and Linda Fales of Texas and Stuart and Rose Ann Wendt of Allegan; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 husbands, Merrill Fales, Ron Wendt and Loren Short, and 1 brother and 1 sister, Robert Zoll and Mildred White. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. Katherine Culpepper officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
