Monterey Twp., Hopkins, MI, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at Metron of Allegan. Mrs. Moomey was born October 16, 1919 in Monterey Twp., the daughter of Abraham and Neva (Feltenbarger) Simmons. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Allegan, and had been employed at General Electric in Holland for 20 years, retiring in 1959. Surviving are 2 children, Carole (Louis) Bartz of Byron Center and Marvin "Mick" Moomey of Dorr; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 brother and 1 sister, Dale (Pat) Simmons and Phyllis "Honey" (James) Battjes, all of Hopkins; 1 brother-in-law, William Thurkettle of Walhalla; 1 sister-in-law, Betty Simmons of Hopkins; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; 1 brother and 4 sisters. Friends may meet with the family from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Jerome M. Heyman, O.S.A., Celebrant. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp.
