of Fennville, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Smith was born August 1, 1950, in Allegan, the son of Lyle C. and Barbara Crisman Smith. Tom was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He worked for over 20 years for Allegan County, spending most of his time at the Allegan County Medical Care, the Youth Home, and the Jail, before retiring in 2010. Surviving are his wife, Judy, 6 children, Tom Smith, Stacey Waldron, Melissa Smith, all of Allegan, Bridgett Smith of Plainwell, Michell Truax of Allegan and Darlene and Andrew Papanichola of Otsego, many grandchildren, his mother, Barbara Smith of Allegan, 2 brothers, Rusty and Mel Smith of Allegan, Jay and Mary Smith of Otsego, 2 sisters, Kelly and Dale Wadsworth and Holly and Tim Lee all of Gobles, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle and his granddaughter, Emma, and his sister, Gail. Friends may meet with the family on September 7, Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 7 pm. Private graveside services will be held at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Memorials may be made to the Allegan County Medical Care Facility.
