Obituary

of Allegan, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Ely Manor Nursing Home. Luella and her family were loved and cared for by all the staff at Ely Manor, words cannot express the deep gratitude they feel, a special thanks to Karen and Jennifer and ALL the staff. Mrs. Button was born August 19, 1915, in Latchie, Ohio, the daughter of Christian and Lydia (Weismiller) Boysen. Luella was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegan for many years. She had worked at the Allegan County Extension Office, and then retired to Florida with her husband Melbourne, whom she was married to for over 50 years. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed sharing time with them at all the family gatherings. Surviving are her 2 son's; Larry and Connie Button of St. John's, and Gary Button of Alabama, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melbourne, her sister, Evelyn, and 4 brothers; Alton, Glenn, Norman, and Merritt. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, April 14, from 11am till service time at 1pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Ronald Kruse will officiate. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church.
