Allegan, MI, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at Bronson's Trauma Care Unit after injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Aug. 27. Lue was born Dec. 20, 1943 in Grand Rapids, the son of Beno and Laverne Luedecking. He was a robot welder at Benteler Automotive in Galesburg. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was happiest when riding his motorcycle, driving stock car, hunting, fishing or camping. He loved talking to people, even when he didn't know them. Surviving are his wife, Bev (Marsh); 1 son and 2 daughters, Larry Luedecking, Sandra (Joe) Preston and Jerri (Tom) Raab all of Allegan; 10 grandchildren, Cody, Nikky, Jamie, and Colin Luedecking, Zachery Garlock, Xzandria and Hunter Preston, Kaycee, Nicole and Brittney Raab, all of Allegan; 3 sisters, Diane (Dave) Kloth, Yvonne Earle, and Julaine Louden; 4 brothers, Steve (Nancy) Luedecking, Duane (Gerri) Gay, Craig Gay, and Rick (Terri) Gay; mother-in-law, Helen Marsh, 2 sisters-in-law, Michelle (Stu) Nielson and Maureen (Jeff) Boucher many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beno Luedecking and Laverne "Tootie" Gay, his son, James "Jim", father-in-law, Louis Marsh, sister, Deloris Galloway, brother, Gilbert Gay, great grandson, Andrew Novotny; 2 nephews, Derek and Terry Kloth and sister-in-law, Sue Gay. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Graveside services will be held Thursday at Prairie Home Cemetery in Richland at 11 a.m. Pastor Nathan Kelch officiating. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Allen Panell and Jodi, and Dr. Peter and Sandy Savage for stopping at the scene and performing CPR.
