Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Thompson was born June 2, 1923 in Byron Center, the daughter of Ethil and Angeline (Hansen) Weaver. Family and friends referred to her as Grandma Lucy. She loved her grandchildren, gardening, crocheting, and shopping at WalMart. Surviving are 7 children and their spouses, Steve and Sally Thompson of Allegan, Karen and Everett Barnes of Fennville, Donna and Jerry O'Bryant of Sunfield, Joyce and Villas Mohrland of Otsego, Robert and Sally Thompson of Fountain, Jackie Thompson of Allegan and Louise Thompson and Darrin Myers of Plainwell; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Albert, Norman, Mary Ann, and Clara, 2 grandchildren, Melissa and Ryan. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to Kids Hope or the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility.
