Obituary

Allegan, MI, age 97, passed away at Life Care Center of Plainwell Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. Mrs. Ingalsbee was born May 17, 1911 in Cheshire Twp., the daughter of Ralph and Flossie (Miller) Brower. She has been a member of the Allegan United Methodist Church for 60 years. She worked at several jobs over her lifetime, always making sure her jobs allowed her to be home when her children got home from school. She enjoyed traveling, and after retirement, she had her husband spent winters in Florida for 22 years. She enjoyed making quilts and afghans, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter and son, Lila Lemley and Vern (Beverly) Ingalsbee; 7 grandchildren, Tim (Catia) Ingalsbee, Michael Ingalsbee, Shanna Ingalsbee, Jeff (Sally) Lemley, Craig (Ana) Lemley, Jan Myers, and Curt (Julie) Lemley; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Marv (Dottie) Brower; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ingalsbee, brothers, Ford Brower, Ernest Brower and infant brother, Frank Brower, and son-in-law, Fred Lemley. Friends may meet with the family from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert Stover officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church or the William Crispe Community House, where she lived for 7 years.
