age 83, of Hopkins, departed this earthly world peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2014 surrounded by loved ones, in her home. Deal was a strong, independent woman. She worked as a clerk at Weick's Department Store for many years. She was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 7581. Deal opened her heart and home to many friends and loved ones over the years. She was a good friend and confidant. Deal loved spending time with friends, playing cards and crocheting. She loved words. She was an avid reader, master scrabble player and a lover of wit and puns. Deal loved her family and took special interest in all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Larr; son Tom "Bodine" Larr; her parents George and Laura (Green) Beck, three brothers: Bernard, Dan, and Jim Beck; sister Viola "Trix" McEwen; and son-in-law Kerry "Chud" Hildenbrand. Deal is survived by her children: Bob and Cherie Larr, Roberta and Kelly Beckers, Kitt and Steve Pigeon, Mindy and Gary Genther; fourteen grandchildren: Kalene and Doug, Kelli, Kammy and Kurt, Travis and Rory, Ed and Stephanie, Angie, Pat, Jennie, Matt, Christopher, Nick, Heather and Chad, Ashley and Kevin, Matt; eighteen great-grandchildren; four sisters: Alice Bartrum, Lila "Pum" Harnish, Leona "Onie" Nevenzel, Gail and Stan Emelander; special friend Connie Moon; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, as well as at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 until the time of the Funeral at 12 Noon, also at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Comer Skinner and Pastor Steven Otto will be officiating. Interment is at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township.
