of Allegan. Passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Allegan County Medical Care Community. Age 88. She was born in Chicago on October 8, 1923 the daughter of the late John and Antoinette (Gudjonas) Motuz. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Loretta taught cake decorating classes in Allegan, served as a district leader for the Glowing Embers Girl Scout Council, was past president of the Eagles Auxiliary #2315 and worked at the Allegan County Fair for 30 years. She enjoyed bingo and playing golf. She was married to Max Elmer Layton on April 12, 1945; he preceded her on October 2, 1994. Surviving are two children, Nancy Hensley of Holland and Joyce (Don) Barber of Allegan; her grandson, Jon Hensley of Grand Rapids; and her special friends, Ken and Eleanor Milhiem. Loretta was preceded by her brother, John Motuz Jr. Cremation has taken place. Private interment of ashes will be in Miner Cemetery.
