Loraine M. (Horton) Wood, 85 of Mishawaka, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Born December 16, 1934 in Pierson, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Celeste (Benson) Horton. She worked as an administrative assistant for the City of Newport Beach, California and also as a registrar's assistant for the Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College. Loraine married her first husband, O.J. Larson, and was happy to be able to spend 38 years together before his death in 1991. She felt very fortunate and proud to become a Pastor's wife when she married her second husband, Rev. Charles Wood, November 13, 1993, serving together for 16 years at Grace Church in Granger, Indiana. Loraine's favorite thing to do was to be surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to serve her church family as well as her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she met personally and gave her life to as a very young girl. Her presence in her families' lives will be greatly missed, but her legacy lives on through each of them. Loraine is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles Wood; her children, Gwen (Larson) Damon, Gregory (Sandra Pikaart) Larson, Jon Goad (Son-in-Law), Rick (Karen) Wood, Brent (Kelly) Wood, Gaylene Wood (John) Davis; her sisters, Beth Summa and Janet Pill; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Carl and Celeste, and her first husband, O.J., she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginger Goad; and her three siblings, Thelma (Art) Hunter, Bud (Doris) Horton, and Rev. Bob (Bea) Horton. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the First Baptist Church (1290 - 32nd St, Allegan, MI 49010) with the Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 PM.
