Lon Arndt, age 71, went to be with Jesus on January 9, 2026, following a five-year battle with cancer. He married Dawn (Malone) Arndt in 1979, and they shared over 46 years of marriage. Lon's greatest joy was his family — his wife, his daughters and son-in-law, and his grandchildren. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was a generous and selfless man. Although Lon was a quiet man, he found many opportunities to witness to others about Jesus' love and his free gift of salvation for all. Lon was a Hopkins High School graduate, Class of 1972.  He retired from Sandy Pines after 40 plus years as their Maintenance Supervisor.  Lon enjoyed woodworking and especially restoring antique furniture.  He made many wooden crosses to give away to special friends and those who needed encouragement. Lon could build it or if it was broken, he could fix it, a true jack of all trades. He had a great smile and sense of humor and always took time to share a kind word. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Dawn Arndt; children Kristi (Ben) Fifelski and Becki Arndt; grandchildren Claire and Sam Fifelski; siblings in-law Dan (Dawn) Malone, Sherri Malone and Joeann Compton; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Lons funeral service will be this Thursday, January 15, from 12:00 PM with an hour's visitation beforehand from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel 208 West Main Street, Hopkins MI 49328.
