Watson Twp.,MI, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Layton was born October 21, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Richard & Zita (Kovach) Walker. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Medical Technology. She was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego, and had been employed as a Medical Technologist at both Bronson & Borgess Hospitals. Surviving are her daughter, Christina Layton & her fiance, Daniel Andress of Allegan; 1 granddaughter, Makayla; her mother & step father, Zita Walker England and Cartis England of West Olive; 3 brothers, Richard Walker of Plainwell, Mike Walker of Constantine, and Daniel & Tina Walker of Fennville; 3 sisters, Patricia & Arthur Harmon of Vicksburg, Julie Stamm, and Carolyn & Steve Mannes all of Portage; 3 step brothers & sisters, Lowanna & George Bruen and Joe England all of Monroe and Nila & Dave Heck of Pullman; 2 brothers-in-law and their wives, William & Kathryn Layton of Illinois and Donald & Debra Layton of Plainwell; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her dad, Richard A. Walker, her brother, Victor and her twin brother John. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego. Rev. Fr. Donald Klingler, Celebrant. Interment Miner Cemetery, Watson Twp., MI.
